Detail Study
Saturday, August 25th, 2007Ok recently, I have been immursing myself in the YUI Framework
getting it under my belt enough to redo my splash landing page. but even my wife kids me on how she needs to speak in logic syntax to get me to sweep the house or change out the cat’s litter lol…
needless to say I took a quick break this evening, so I scanned in one of my favorite shirts I did back in 1997 at Anything Airbrushed in Cincinnati . Although I sold it (damn) for like $150.00 I regret it now…
At least I can do another myself lol…
I always enjoyed the detail I did in this particular piece …
Althouugh it took me longer to paint than I let myself toil commonly on any one piece of work, this was real good stippling of white opaque paint that sure turned out good and paid off as it built up good sweat detail.

its been a while since Ive done many sports related paintings…
Ill stop programming a bit now - so I dont burn out - and knock out some portraits like of the Phillies baseball Team I think next…

The Kucewicz Family Photo
Tuesday, June 12th, 2007Here is the final photo of the painting I was telling all of you about last week.
Aaron was comissioned by Mrs Kucewicz to do this very special painting for her new husband for Father’s Day.
This is a mix-media painting 18 x 24 ready to hang canvas.
Est Value $625.00 and to the Kucewicz Family….Priceless!

Aaron designed this from over 10-15 different pictures of the family as they did not have one picture with all four of them in it.
We will post the Family’s comments after Father’s Day….
Gotta go,
Time for the ” D-List “……

more on background on harajuku ::.

I wanted to write a little about how Gwen Stefani’s music and L.A.M.B. fashion and how it is inspired by the style of Harajuku girls in Tokyo’s vibrant Harajuku district. I found a great Flickr photostream by CherryVega with some great images of real-life Harajuku girls.
On “Harajuku Girls” (produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis) Stefani sings, “In a pedestrian paradise. Where the catwalk got its claws. A subculture in a kaleidoscope of fashion. Prowl the streets of Harajuku (. . .) Putting on a show , when you dress up in your clothes, wild hair color and cell phones, your accessories are dead on. Harajuku girls you got the wicked style. I like the way that you are. I am your biggest fan.”

Kathy Griffin D-Portrait
Saturday, April 21st, 2007For over one year, we have been contacting various parties in Kathy Griffin’s entourage to negotiate delivery of this painting . . .

This weekend, plans finalized at the Tower Theatre in Philadelphia !
My wife and I delivered the painting to Kathy who’s response onstage in front of 5,000+ guests was “ My favorite thing… mmmmMMMM ME ! “
We stayed for the entire show and found out just how hilarious she truly is in person!
It was nice to see that she propped the painting up against her stool and had it as a stage prop the entire evening ! I couldn’t have been more flattered…
Can’t wait for the new season of “My Life on the D List“ starting in June and hopefully working with Kathy in the future. . .
orange brand in abstract xpression

painted 3.16.2007 acryllic on canvas
Herein is a deeper glimpse of the artist within; another side of who I am… and the art…
50 minute drives to and from work you have a passion for is a blessing but just this once, I found it to be a curse. My mind wanders as I drove home last evening . My emotions were restless and my thoughts raced about everything imaginable. I knew I was entering an all too familiar territory as of late for me – the unknown. But just as this painting manifested itself from a combination of abstract thoughts and emotions, I knew it would help me to ‘paint out’ and express these feelings in a therapeutic outlet:: onto canvas. It is an uneasy realization for one to face when one must (as we all do so many times in our lives) rearrange the pieces of our lives that come as they do and make the most of them always. Just as Atlas had no choice but to take on his task The WORLD given to him by Zeus, so too do I take on the shared brand burdens… tha’ artist in me…
It was my personal insurmountable burdens I couldn’t win over which led me to depict Atlas… (and at that time I was thinking the Earth/Gaia) Atlas was the first element by far I knew I connected to my feelings for this painting. I don’t really know how I came up with him, I never have even drawn him before but I believe the raw ambition I felt toward accepting my personal stakes and recently screening of the movie 300 influenced me to sketch such a figure… and then the Globe would take 2/3rds of the painting to exaggerate the burdens upon him. Then suddenly ( an art epiphany – funny how they work here and similar methods can be found in all ideas in life ) I saw how the negative space of Atlas worked with the Lion around the figure…Next I feel because there is so much exciting stimulating work still left unfinished though my responsibilities met with successful accomplishments influenced me to easily come to the conclusion that Atlas would hold the corners of the orange ball upon his shoulders… In reflecting about it know it is interesting to also draw a conclusion to note how the blue figure can be analogous to the workforce of a marketing team personnel “taking on” servicing the wishes of the customer too. All elements stand upon a solid cold slate of bedstone representing the inevitable reality careers move on. Ergo the work is captured.
If a man aspires to the highest place, it is no dishonor to him
to halt at the second or even the third. – Marcus Tullis Cicero
I fulfill this project in great spirits exciting for the prosperous future coming to us all…
truly it was an orange experience – truly an adventure…
I hope our roads cross again…
All my best,
