How appropriate Rocky Balboa is being released just as I enter the area. I wondered why such a lapse between movies and LOL I guess there you have it! LOL

I know there were three versions of the ending being worked on and it is rumored he will fall and kiel over at the end thus solidifying him a lengend and saint amongst Philadelphians…

DID YOU KNOW ?
It’s actually funny that some people here figure he was a real guy LOL

too bad the statue got Auf’d from the Art Museum

Magic in the Borough

Saturday, October 21st, 2006

It is just like out of a storybook that in the humble little towns are where the extrordinary tales lie dormant; waiting for someone with a vision to find them polish them and launch them from thier fear of the unknown and create legend.

In the little town here is an exciting little theatre just reopened and reconditioned ready for the silver screen to light the way and fill our hearts with hope and hollywood dreams…

It is so magical to see the children run up to the box office and get a ticket for a magical journey that only an enchanted theater such as this can provide them.

This borough is a neat place full of heritage and tradition, and what better item, what better jewel to crown the community than to be a part of reushering in hollywood magic.

No BS at the BOD Table

Man, I love it when people immediately react and tell you an answer to a question and thats it. No elaboration or explaination trying to persuade an answer - just simple matter of fact , thats the way it is - an answer to ONLY the question that was asked. And the mutual respect for the fact that I had a question and it was reguarded as important and promptly answer in due course to matter how pertinent it may had seemed to the one posed a question.

People here have to everyday outperform the next person or they are off the pot in a sense, and I love that stimulation! That’s why I am truly a competitors challenge !

Short sweet intense competitveness of this area is something that was sorely missed. Im so damn glad Im in the middle of that get things done attitude and the “if you are ever slow, well you simply get eaten approach” to tasks. . . No room for procrastination or overdone refinery - you either have it the first time or you are out!  and only field experience can provide an understanding to that !

Jumping into Teams and initiatives that get that are the skydive rushes for me, the rest well they can rot! Unless the retain me too - . . . up front lol

There’s much more to southern New Jersey than the Pine Barrens and the Jersey Devil, and this collection by journalists Jim Waltzer and Tom Wilk tells readers all about it. Oceanside and bayside towns offer a box seat from which to observe the region’s rich history and the summery lore of the wonders of nature. Landlocked towns boast their own homespun and hell-raising traditions and idiosyncrasies.

Waltzer and Wilk have compiled almost fifty stories about the state’s southernmost counties. Although the focus is on Atlantic City and its remarkable people, outsize structures, and quirky events, the storytelling ranges across the wider region to provide an insider’s look at history as it was being made. You’ll encounter gangsters and gamblers, baseball hitters and hurricanes, famous piers and hotels, landmark theaters and eateries, splashy events and unheralded oddities ¾ in sum, a cross-section of the region’s character and characters.

The authors divide their book into six sections: entertainment, famous and infamous events, innovations and innovators, leisure and recreation, room and board, and sports legends. Within each section are the rich and varied stories Waltzer and Wilk have collected for New Jerseyans’ reading pleasure.
A delightful read

A night passage about the Broadway Theatre is featured. Originally opened on May 18 1926, it still runs strong! There is also a story about the Apollo Theatre and Club Harlem too. A bit about Dean Martin, Jonathan Pitney and Sara Spencer Washington.
