Unite

Tuesday, March 18th, 2008

The nations of the world will have to unite, for the next war will be an interplanetry war. The nations of the earth must someday make a common front against attack by people from other planets.

The Quiet wonders

“Remember the quiet wonders. The world has more need of them than it has for warriors.”
– Novelist Charles de Lint

we must take action

Friday, March 24th, 2006

In deep introspection and subjection of my world and studies over the last three weekends, my spirit has postured these conclusions:

It is imperative to understand that within the American psyche lies a deeply imbued sense of fair play, rooting for the underdog, and a compassion for those perceived as “not fairly matched.” These bred traits can kill the cattle on the open plane… What has happened to the fire of the Cowboy of the Wild West or the Charge of a chivalrous Knight, the grit of a Pirate, the Grace of a Samuri or the War Cry of the Cherokee Warrior?

In all, I charge you brothern, remember always to take clean and decisive action. Make power moves of complete intention without hesitation, exert direct energy unwaivering and not settle for reaction for it will be your undoing and ultimate demise…

… embracing the savage animal graced by philosophy,
Virgil, brings us vision in The Aeneid & Eclogues

As a twig is bent the tree inclines.

In quarrels such as these not ours to intervene.

Look with favour upon a bold beginning.

O tyrant love, to what do you not drive the hearts of men.

Practice and thought might gradually forge many an art.

They can conquer who believe they can.

They can do all because they think they can.

Your descendants shall gather your fruits.

Believe one who has proved it. Believe an expert.

Death’s brother, Sleep.

Each of us bears his own Hell.

Fortune favors the brave.

I have known sorrow and learned to aid the wretched.

It is easy to go down into Hell; night and day, the gates of dark Death stand wide; but to climb back again, to retrace one’s steps to the upper air - there’s the rub, the task.

Whatever it is, I fear Greeks even when they bring gifts.

Yield not to evils, but attack all the more boldly.

A snake lurks in the grass.

Let us go singing as far as we go: the road will be less tedious.

Love conquers all things; let us too surrender to Love.

Trust one who has gone through it.

“A good plan violently executed right now is better than 100 percent perfect plans put off until next week.”

– GEN Douglas MacArthur

KABOOM! That’s a zinger of a quote. Perfection? Never. NEVER. You will never reach perfection, in anything you do. Ever. It’s a physical impossibility proven by science. No matter how straight you think you draw a line—even with a computer—if you magnify it enough, you’ll see that the line is actually jagged. Such is life. We are merely human. So, march on! Move out! Proudly. Confidently. Despite your imperfect plan, execute with passion and you probably will succeed. If you put enough force and energy into a plan—however ill- conceived—you are all but certain to find yourself victorious despite the plan’s shortcomings. Despite your imperfect plans, CHARGE! Charge I say! Charge on to victory! Charge on and take that hill!

the darkest hour

Monday, October 10th, 2005

Churchill applied the term “the darkest hour” to the period between the fall of France and the official entry of the U.S. into the war and specifically to the day of May 10, 1941, when over 1,500 people died in London alone under Nazi bombing. In most if not all wars, there is a turning point when directions change and the outcome, in hindsight, becomes inevitable.

No Dominion

Tuesday, October 4th, 2005

… and death shall hath no dominion…

faith in most’s hands shall snap in two…
and evils of unicorns shall run them through…
Though many go mad in today’s time, they shall appear sane in the masses…

Though lovers be lost, love shall not.
And death shall have no dominion!

The Virtuous

Wednesday, March 23rd, 2005

I know of no more encouraging fact than the unquestionable ability of man to elevate his life by a conscious endeavor. In all Ive done, it is most important we write and document our thoughts embraced with emotions of that moment and preserve them for ancient future generations by some form so that they may extend themselves beyond self and become immortal.

Life
Four-fifths of all our troubles in this life would disappear if we would only sit down and keep still.

America and Patriotism   •    Classics   •    Business
The chief business of the American people is business.

Adversity
If you see ten troubles coming down the road, you can be sure that nine will run into the ditch before they reach you and you have to battle with only one of them.

Fame   •    Politics and Government
In public life it is sometimes necessary in order to appear really natural to be actually artificial.

Respect
No person was ever honored for what he received. Honor has been the reward for what he gave.

Motivation
Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not. Genius will not. Education will not. Persistence and determination are omnipotent.

Silence
You don’t have to explain something you never said.
