If we return to the Saxon chronicles, when routes around the British Isles were first recorded in tect (pre-1066), one finds reference to ‘Ways’, ‘Highways’ and ‘Streets’.

Ways are general paths between settlements - day-to-day routes. Streets are the old Roman roads, often paved.

What a street is, its meaning and its uses has changed over time and will probably change significantly again in the next few hundred years.

As an add on, to try to be a bit useful I’ve added the definitions (abridged!) of your question’s terms from www.dictionary.com (1st results). These agree with Beeper_spryte:

Road
Abbr. Rd.

3. A course or path: the road to riches
Avenue
Abbr. Ave.
An avenue is a straight road with a line of trees or large shrubs running along each side, which is used, as its French source venir “to arrive” indicates, to emphasize the arrival at a landscape or architectural feature

Historically, the term “parkway” has often implied that the road was designed specifically with a naturalistic or manicured landscaping of the median and adjacent land areas meant to suggest a pastoral driving experience

A boulevard is usually a wide, multi-lane arterial divided thoroughfare, often with an above-average quality of landscaping and scenery.

A street is a public parcel of land adjoining buildings in an urban context, on which people may freely assemble, interact, and move about

A road is an identifiable route or path between two or more places. Roads are typically smoothed, paved, or otherwise prepared to allow easy travel; though they need not be, and historically many roads were simply recognisable routes without any formal construction or maintenance. In urban areas roads may pass along and be named as streets, serving a dual function as urban space and route.
