TPM refers to the tpmC standard of measurement from http://www.tpc.org/.
At that site, you can research systems and their comparitive performance based on their tpmC rankings. So, for example, in the chart, the Oracle database shows the need for 360 TPM per user on the application server. If you have 100 users, then you would need a server that has a tpmC of 36,000 or greater.
